JamesO > After taking us into several tombs our guide encouraged us to climb an extra hill.  As we crested it, on the right we could see Carter House, where he stayed while excavating Tut's tomb.  On the left, beyond this picture, was Queen Hatshepsut's temple.

JamesO > This panorama of Cairo was taken from our balcony at the Nile Hilton at around 7 AM.  Though it seems serene, you can't imagine the cacophony of sounds that blasted into our room day and night from the party boats across the river, the traffic, and the calls to worship.  You also get a sense of the smog as you look up river to the left.
